For the past 25 years Ferdinand has been a global professional advisor and academic in the areas of corporate governance, compliance and financial reporting.
He graduated in marketing and commercial law in 1988. He then continued in post graduate studies in accounting, qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in New Zealand while working for Pricewaterhouse in Wellington. After gaining his internal auditor accreditations from the US IIA, he moved to Poland to establish an office for Coopers & Lybrand in 1996. As Office Partner in Poznan, he developed a full service office for PwC, servicing both Polish corporations and multinational companies, in Poland and the rest of Central and Eastern Europe.
Ferdinand subsequently moved through professional and industry positions and projects with global MNC, SME’s, OMB’s and institutions in more than 40 countries. He is experienced in Sarbanes Oxley, FCPA, UK Anti Bribery Act, FATF and other international regulatory compliance, especially for NYSE listed companies with international subsidiaries and operations.
He completed his Masters of Commerce and Accounting in 2013 based on a thesis researching governance, culture and financial reporting in China, in parallel with his professional responsibilities to re-engineer a foreign owned manufacturing operation in Qingdao. He continues to write and publish academically in top tier academic journals.
Ferdinand has worked in professional advisory leadership roles in risk, corporate governance, compliance and management consulting service lines internationally. In terms of industry expertise, Ferdinand has extensive knowledge of the oil and gas, engineering, Biotech, manufacturing, telecoms, logistics and tourism and leisure sectors.
He is a chartered accountant registered with the Chartered Accountants Association of Australia and New Zealand, and a certified internal auditor through the Institute of Internal Auditors (USA). He has presented on technical and professional subject matters at international professional and academic conferences including the IIA, TM Forum, ACCA and EAA. Ferdinand is multilingual and a competent presenter in several languages.
