This technical advisory appointment is the natural outcome of the work Ferdinand has been doing with TI NZ, supporting on the development of submissions to the New Zealand government in areas such transparency of ultimate beneficial owners legislation (http://www.treasury.govt.nz/publications/reviews-consultation/foreign-trust-disclosure-rules/pdfs/report-giftdr-27jun2016.pdf , and anti money laundering regulations (https://consultations.justice.govt.nz/comms/tackling-money-laundering-and-terrorist-financing). Ferdinand is currently advising on a unique TI NZ initiative to introduce a national Financial Integrity Systems Assessment in New Zealand (FISA). This includes providing technical governance advice on the frameworks proposed and the coverage of the FISA. The FISA is a substantially broader and technically deeper inquiry than those usually undertaken by international institutions.
Ferdinand’s appointment is aligned with the BIA vision of expanding its broad international networks of ethical investors and key actors in this domain, to provide Investor Relations and related advisory services focusing on the wider community of (In)vestors and stakeholders internationally.
